This group will investigate how ethics and compliance programs should integrate social networking technologies in an effort to positively influence ethical culture and behavior, as well as investigate the dynamics of existing social networks in the workplace, and how they might be utilized to enhance ethics & compliance programs.

The ERC Fellows and the ERC research team will commence this group with a very brief review of the relationship between CSR & ethics. The primary focus of this group, however, will be on producing a document of guidelines that can provide ethics officers with best practices on ways to apply ethics and CSR into their formal corporate governance structure.

This group will investigate the feasibility of employers screening potential employees for ethics by measuring ethical predispositions, and whether or not these predispositions are reliable predictors of work performance.

Surveys & Benchmarking
This group will explore the practical application of ERC Survey Metrics within organizations. The goal will be to develop case studies for use in business settings and business schools related to the value of company survey data and benchmark comparisons in managing the effectiveness of an ethics and compliance program.

ERC Fellows Vice Chair
Steve Prosser joined Starbucks Coffee Company in 2001 as the manager of Corporate Compliance and has for the last four years served as Starbucks director of Business Ethics and Compliance. Previous to joining Starbucks, Steve was a member of the ethics and compliance team at Verizon Communications, Inc.
As vice chair, Steve will work with ERC Fellows Program chair Jacqueline Brevard, chief ethics and compliance officer and vice president of Merck & Co., Inc. The vice chair is responsible for ensuring that the ERC Fellows research and meeting agendas maintain the highest standards of excellence and explore topics relevant to chief ethics and compliance officers, general counsels and other senior executives. Steve joined the Fellows program in 2006 and succeeds Charles Ruthford of The Boeing Company.
