One of ECI’s greatest resources is its members. A pillar of our organization, we are proud to have E&C practitioners from industries across the globe in our community. Our new Member Spotlights are an opportunity to highlight just a few of our many great members, showcase their achievements and show our appreciation for their support of the incredible ECI community. This month, meet Constance Farmer!

“I was led to ECI while completing my graduate degree. An ECI sponsor offered a scholarship through my school for the ECI annual IMPACT conference.  I applied and was one of the selected recipients for the scholarship, which included a student membership.

Becoming a student member and attending the IMPACT conference was a great segue into the field and a deep dive into all things compliance. The conference hosted leaders from various industries with in-depth knowledge and discussion points centered on compliance benchmarks.  As a “newbie” to compliance, the opportunity to attend sessions and take advantage of the value-added networking was great and gave me a lot of takeaways to use in my client communications.

Due to my schedule, I find the On-Demand library useful. Viewing past webinars and virtual events keeps me abreast of what’s going on in the compliance space.  As for networking, I utilize the member community to exchange ideas and compliance best practices. Another plus is the Leadership Professional in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC), in-house training in preparation for the professional certification. It is helpful to have the training, resources, and testing in the same spot.

I like what ECI is about – collaboration on relevant issues.  Through being part of an ECI working group, I realized that we are interconnected. Working together on shared issues assists us in understanding and respecting different points of view, ensuring the group’s larger conversation is relatable to the group’s common goal.

I would tell anyone who is considering joining a working group to go for it.  Diverse viewpoints are essential to the discussion if we are to make any progress.”
